Be able to add a payment amount without changing to installments

I often have clients that decide to pay partly with a gift card or split a payment a different way. If they originally wanted to pay deposit and total, it erases all the history. I just want to click add a payment to add another authorization instead of resetting the whole thing.

And customize the description. I often pay for the transfers or something and if I am using my credit card I would like to say, travel agent discount or something!

Yes, a new payment type is needed for all activities and Room types. We also need to track payment type. (Cash, CC, Gift card, Vendor Credit, Check, Other)
